Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose (hypromellose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose) is a derivative of cellulose (therefore classified as a carbohydrate), not digested by the human body (the ultimate degradation by intestinal microflora occurs only in the small intestine). Used in food and pharmaceutical industries as a filler (capsules and tablets) and auxiliary agent, affecting the correct functioning of the digestive tract and by delaying the absorption of nutrients. The supplementation uses its laxative properties.
