Common rue (Ruta graveolens) is a Mediterranean plant, cultivated in Poland. Medicinal raw material of common routine is the leaf (Folium Ruta), which contains many active substances: alkaloids (arborine), flavonoids (rutin), Furanocoumarin (rutamarin), essential oils (limonene, pinene). Preparations from the leaves of common rue are diuretic and cholagogue, seal blood vessels and increase their flexibility. Contraindicated is touching fresh leaves by allergy sufferers, due to possible allergies.
